The guardians

“I am waiting for interpretations” professor looked over his glasses.

Students silently lowered their eyes. They were secretly looking at each other as if they could avoid his watchful gaze. The hall was with deliberately diminished light. The curtains were drawn to give an atmosphere of mystery. This all was to enable the Young Hopes not to think…but to feel.

“If you try thinking logically you will suppress your intuition and you will never start Feeling things and the World” the Deputy, a noteworthy lady, intervened.

The exam was like a crown of their overall education. Six years full of all exercises. All kind of challenges. Successes and failures. In the hall there were fifty or so who managed to succeed until now.

“So the point is the Unity of Everything” redhead youngster named Edrik began “We should start from here”

“I am listening” the professor nodded.

“Nothing could exist separately. The entire planet is a united variety of forms of matter, of energies and beings.”

“Yes” the professor nodded again.

“All these components are continuously interacting” Edrik showed gesture as if kneading dough ball “And the point is in maintaining this equilibrium”

“Good start!” Deputy nodded approvingly.

“Energy and Matter are constantly flowing one into another” the redheaded continued “End of one thing gives birth to another. Bodies of dead animals and plants are food for living creatures… for us…”

“Good, good!” the professor started nodding more and more approvingly.

“ The same thing is happening with energies…” Edrik was not so sure.

“Kane” lady Deputy spoke “Continue the thought of Edrik, please”

“Energies” Kane was blond Scandinavian teenager “They are flowing one into another just as materials do, only much more frequently and much more faster. For example every day the sun with it’s light triggers millions of chemical processes in the organisms of people animals and plants. We are in constant interaction…while a number of scientists deny such a high dependence…”

“Let them deny” the professor waved “For me is important your Feeling of things”

“Without this continuous interaction…” Kane felt difficult.

“Marianne, please continue ” Lady Deputy gently interrupted him.

“Energies are the faster side of the interaction. It’s another side are the Materials” vigorously began dark-haired student “In fact after millions, billions of interactions and mutual transformations of energies comes the much slower-turning material interaction. Energies go the little circle cycle and materials do the large circle cycle of the World”

“Wonderful, Marianne!” Deputy smiled.

“Marianne” the professor intervened “Please share with us your vision about reference of  rate of the little circle cycle to the large circle cycle”

“The speed of the greater circle cycle, meaning materials cycle, depends on the speed of the little circle cycle, meaning energy cycle” the charming brunette smiled.

“Something more to ad?” Lady Deputy gently intervened.

“Well…” she lowered her eyes.

“Upon the direction of the energy circle cycle depends the direction of the greater material circle cycle” the brown-headed Adam of Central Europe couldn`t manage to restrain himself.

All the attention turned upon him.

“Make it clear, please” The professor lifted his glasses.

“Normal velocity, normal direction, normal energy transformations” Adam smiled “They lead to normal Circle in this world. Every deviation, however, leads to next deviation.”

“For example?” Lady Deputy “shot”

“The cow grazes grass than cud the food than sleeps. As a result energy cycle is being carried out into the conventional frames direction, and as a result of this the cow is fed enough, it defecates normal stools, gives normal milk etc. But if the grass was grown, let`s say in the dark, the chlorophyll in it is insufficient. More grass is needed for the normal cycle to be done. The cow must eat more. It needs more time to digest the food and respectively more time for all the rest energy-material processes”

“We are following you” the professor nodded seriously.

“But if we give the cow just the same quantity of grass, only poorer of chlorophyll, energy flows and processes will go with less power and insufficient exchange” Adam lifted his hands “And they will affect all the next processes. The cow can get sick. Or worse. On first sight it may “cover” the criteria of health.  But in fact it can be with incomplete energy equivalent… What could be the result of using this cow for food for example…nobody could tell, no matter his scientific claims…”

The students were silent, contemplating on his words. Some of them unfortunately would never fully comprehend… The professor and the Lady Deputy were looking at their alumni with greater attention. They could read their faces and gestures. Even their postures.

“And now multiply that cow by two” Adam smiled “By four. By hundred!” the students were already looking with their eyes popping “Imagine the whole herd of cows like these! What would be the food made of them? And what would be their offspring? It would be the result of insufficient energy transformations leading to offspring with completely changed metabolism, different energy metamorphoses and generally different energy interactions with the World. Result of something so insignificant as a grass from a dark place!”

“Ah well” said Victoria from Apennines “Aren`t organisms made up the way they could compensate all inappropriate changes? Otherwise we would be eyewitnesses of visible continuous material transformations as a result of the energy interactions pointed by you”

The two professors smiled inwardly one to another. The process of reflection and awareness has been driven. The Young Hopes were already trying to walk without support.

“Generally yes” Adam nodded “But I am speaking of those cases, in which compensation of insufficiency is impossible. There are external constrains. To say it simple the cow eats this much and that kind of food it has been given”

“In the artificial ecosystems yep” Victoria nodded “I agree. But you talk globally. As if that you just listed is almost typical for the whole world!”

“How many times you have waken up in the morning sleepy not because you have slept less?” Fay Hung of Asia intervened “And not because someone has been disturbing you sleep?”

“What do you mean?” Victoria asked.

“I mean that “seemingly” everything has been happening “as it should be” Fay Hung instructively raised his finger “But you are sleepy and tired. You eat well you rest enough. You don`t exceed with anything. However the things are not quite right”

“I don`t understand what you mean!” the belle turned back slightly insulted.

This was a progress! Young Fay Hung mused much deeper.

“I want to tell” Fay Hung put his palm on the table “that, as Marx and Engels said in one bygone era “quantitative accumulation leads to qualitative changes”

“You quote, but you do not explain” the professor intervened to steer the youngster not to go on a preening on, but to continue “digging”.

“I apologize” the boy meant more Victoria than the professor “I wanted to tell that when energy processes have undergone enough interactions in quantity, they accept as a general state one new condition of interactions, which is far more different from their former state. And as  time goes by this  new state becomes their “normal condition”. Roughly speaking if you don`t do something at the moment after some time your head won`t be healed. On a contrary. You will start accepting your headache in the morning as something “normal”. You wake up your head is hurting you, you take a pill you drink coffee and… the day begins. And the bad thing is that this becomes “normal condition” of all the System and after some time nothing could be done!”

Many of the students were gazing at him uncomprehending. Well some of them didn`t even belong to this course.

“Imagine a beaker of water with room temperature. Inside of it there is constant movement of particles right?” Fay Hung sighed.

A group nodding and a group “Yeah” answered him.

“And if we start warming the water?”

“As a result it will be boiling”  Kane called.

“No” Fay Hung shook his head “Before that the particles will gradually increase the rate of their movement. And if we warm the water until certain temperature what would happen? The particles will accept new energy condition with higher velocity and much bigger amplitude of movement. And if we maintain this new temperature particles would keep their new energy condition and for them it will become as natural as their previous state at room temperature was. And after some time they wouldn`t even remember of their previous state.

“Got it” Victoria smiled “General increase of Energy results into General change of the state and condition”

“Yeah” Fay Hung nodded seriously “But in the case with the World much more important is the opposite interaction”

                                                              The Master

It was a dark night. The rain was pouring on the glass window and the wind was blowing unmercifully through the clothes of the passers-by. It was getting through the folds of the clothes, spreading them to all sides and allowing for the drops of water to cover people’s faces and bodies. There was already a small river flowing on the sidewalk and the avenue. The pedestrians were running in a desperate attempt to get to some dry place as quickly as possible. They were splashing in the water, scattering the water in all directions. Outside the entrance, cars, taking the guests to the hotel, stopped from time to time. It took not more than ten seconds or so to get from the car to the entrance which was more than enough to get soaking wet.

A man in his fifties was standing by a window on the fourth floor. He was of medium height, well-built, with grayish hair and well-trimmed beard. He was wearing a dark gray suit. He was folding his arms on his chest, leaning his chin on his hand and looking through the window. The room was dark. The curtain was drawn by only an inch. It seemed that the stranger enjoyed the twilight.

The hotel was the most prestigious and snobbish place in town – glossy, expensive and full of all the latest fads. There were boys in uniforms ready for action everywhere, like menial servants waiting for the slightest gesture of their master and ready to please.

There was an especially snobbish party tonight, something to do with giving awards for craftsmanship and creative work in the art of cinema. The hotel was seething with the cream of the actors’ guild, film directors, producers… and the inevitable entourage. Escorts and gigolos were circulating, sneering at this bunch of artsy brown-nosers while thinking how easy it was for them to turn tricks and earn their living in the most natural way. They were sipping selected drinks and nibbling from every platter, not giving a damn if someone saw them or if they ruined their figures… which would inevitably happen in a few years when other two-legged vibrators would replace them…

The hotel was packed with private bodyguards and police officers. The drug dealers delivered the cocaine doses without a care in this world, totally assured that no competitor would dare to shoot them here. The actors needed their fix and everybody knew it. And so did the police. Tonight the drug dealers would make a fortune!

Doctors were part of the usual entourage. Actors and producers often lived on the edge. The doctors hated this kind of events because it drove them to complete exhaustion, yet, on the other hand, that was the time to make the most of it.

There were politicians, businessmen – patrons of art, lawyers (always present to clean up the mess of the celebrities) as well as all kinds of people of authority, turning the Society’s Wheel of Fortune. And last but not least there were a couple of mafia bosses – the real leaders of economy and culture.

He circulated around the room and headed for the table where a leather travel bag lay. He opened the bag, took out some metal bars and threw them around. He also took out a miniature Eiffel tower and placed it right in the middle of the room. He glanced around for the second time, took out a cloak out of the bag, put it on and returned to the window.

Outside the storm was gathering pace. Lightning flashed and lit the night. The rain was getting stronger, maliciously lashing the wet asphalt. The thunder of the lightning was distorted among the tall buildings, echoing as if composed by a master of horrors.

The stranger smiled – he could sense them now. That ozone smell right before the teleportation. The air thickened and was getting difficult to breathe. They were coming. Like a herd of advancing brainless cattle. He could feel through his skin the atmosphere electrifying. Nature itself was feeling violated and was expressing its discontent. Light was getting spectral while the metal bars started to glow and stood vertically. There was a dark blue spot over the Eiffel tower that was growing fast. Lightning was swirling around it. In a matter of seconds the spot became an orb. The metal bars stood freely in the air and as if drawn by the orb, surrounded it, forming a swirling cylinder phosphorescing in greenish-blue.

Some people appeared inside the orb. People with guns. He grumbled wearily and shook his head. In a few seconds the orb grew in diameter reaching over two meters, filling the cylinder from inside. Unlike all those other times, it wouldn’t disappear, so the people inside couldn’t move. The swirling bars had created a force field. This was a natural phenomenon that the armed men did not know about and could not comprehend. The cylinder wouldn’t simply disappear. It was self-powered. The process of teleportation was forcing the planet field and the bars were the planet’s enhanced resistance against this violence. The people inside couldn’t get out… unless they wanted to die trying. There were five of them dressed in the usual black suits. Getting more and more annoyed, he clicked his tongue once more  – they could have at least worn something different for once in their life!

The people inside could see that not only the force field showed no signs of disappearing but there was a cylinder of greenish-blue light surrounding it. They could also see Him. He was sitting at the edge of the table next to the open window. He was detached and gloomy. He knew beforehand that the arrivals would be dumb, narrow-minded and the kind that follows orders unconditionally. Just like every other time. He didn’t feel sorry for them.

They immediately pointed their guns at him as one of them commanded imperiously:

‘Let us pass!’ his voice sounded distorted.

‘Dumbass!’ He responded irritably.

‘You’ve got three seconds!’ the man inside raised his voice.

‘And then what?!’ He shrugged, ‘You’ll come and pull my ears or what?!’

‘You’ve got three seconds and then we’ll shoot you!’ said another obviously higher ranking officer.

‘The moment you try to leave the force field,’ He interrupted the officer, ‘the Planet will destroy you!’

‘You’re impeding the Secret Services!’ the first one tensed, ‘This is a matter of National Security!’

‘To hell with your national security’ he shrugged, ‘You’re impeding the planet’s security! And since you’re too dumb and braindead like all military men involved in any fucking state conquering-submissive mechanisms, I’ll put it to you plainly… if you try to pass, you’ll die!’

‘What is this… cylinder?’

‘Teleportation is the distortion of the planet’s usual field. It creates pressure due to the energy and matter supercharging in a motionless place. It takes time for the density and energy to adjust. I placed these devices – the bars and the Eiffel tower – which wouldn’t allow for the adjustment to happen. Right now you’re in an extremely unbalanced high-energy field. The cylinder wall is made of metal bars and highly condensed water – the universal solvent and conductor of earth. And if an energy impulse occurs anywhere on the cylinder’s surface, everything around you would be drawn to it, decreasing your energy field through a high energy discharge. A small blast, so to say, for the balance to be restored. The only thing you can do is stay perfectly calm.’

They looked at each other, beginning to comprehend that he wasn’t joking and he really didn’t care what would happen to them. It was beginning to make sense – they could actually die right here and now… but should they believe in all that?

‘If you cooperate, you will be free of all charges of high treason and endangering national security’, one of the men tried to negotiate.
